Who Pays?

Just as it was when founded by Dr. W. Bradford Walker and fifteen prominent citizens in 1928, VNA Northwest remains a not-for-profit agency. Our Board of Directors still consists of leading members of the community who are interested mainly in the well-being of our clients. They establish policies aimed at offering high quality home healthcare at the best possible prices; the bottom line is only a secondary consideration. We work with clients on a case basis, using combinations of funding from these sources:

• Health insurance
• Managed care plans
• Medicare
• Medicaid
• Public health programs (town funding)
• Various other funding sources
• Private payments

Where funding is available we establish sliding fee scales to determine charges on a case by case basis. VNA Northwest regularly appeals to the community for charitable giving to offset fees charged in hardship cases.
